Education
EPaRDA’s intervention in the education sector started with the establishment of six alternative basic education centers in the six target woredas (which later grew into formal schools), accommodating about 300 students. EPaRDA has provided various materials to students at different schools, organized school-based clubs, strengthened schools, and provided the provided the Woreda Education Office with materials and training in the intervention areas. One of the supports provided to students includes over 600 schoolgirls provided with bags, exercise books, pens, girls’ sanitary pads, mini-media equipment, and sports materials. Capacity-building training is provided to school club leaders, teachers, and Woreda Education Office staff. With special attention to female students, various activities have been done to improve access to education for female students.
